After supporting sapa in acquiring selmat, the cdp group tells about the story and the secrets of sapa and gives the floor to Mariangela, antonio and giovanni affinita and their experiences.
It’s been several months since the SAPA family got bigger. Since the 1st of August 2018 and the acquisition of the Selmat Group, we became a group with a € 300 million turnover and 1,700 employees. Are these just numbers? I don’t believe so.
This operation made it possible for us not only to penetrate new markets (BMW, Rolls Royce, Aston Martin and Ferrari) and to acquire new customers, but also to expand our field of work by adding new technologies.
As you know, in our work this latter aspect is essential: we need to keep looking beyond our achievements and examine the market requirements, the customers’ expectations while also respecting and appreciating the context in which our business operates.
For us, this is of the utmost importance.
We have always believed in research and innovation. For example, we created a special department (called “Innovation Engineering”) precisely to make ideas and intuitions applicable within a very short time. It is something unique, which however, stemmed out of something that you also know very well, because this something is shared by anyone who, like us, works in the automotive sector, i.e. the need to be efficient to overcome one’s limitations. I have always believed that this very challenge is more important than any other competition, even in our sector, in which one needs to stand out.
This challenge, however, did not distract us from doing something that we regard as fundamental, i.e. promoting humanity in the workplace. This is the legacy that my father Angelo passed down to us and it is part of us.
And this is certainly the secret and inimitable ingredient: an international outlook that begins and ends here, from our family, our business and the from the place where we were born.
Fortunately, we are not the only ones to think this way. Belonging is a primary need and it comes even before the desire for admiration or for self-accomplishment.
The CDP Group immediately believed in our project and it decided to invest in it.
And so, SACE supported the acquisition of SELMAT by issuing bonds from the Export development fund, which participated in the financing of the acquisition of an Italian company for the first time.
Hereunder you will find a link to the video created by SACE, in which Mariangela, Antonio and I explained in what ways SAPA is extraordinary and we talk about our experiences in carrying out a project that we believe, invest and hope in.
Enjoy watching the video!
